Abbey touraid legacy success in Swaziland

As part of the Abbey touraid 2014 event, a team from Swaziland visited Reading and were hosted by parents at Little Heath School.  Many of the children were orphans and all had endured incredibly difficult circumstances in their lives to date.  Many of the boys were prime candidates to drop out of school at the age of 13 with little prospects.

It is with great pride that we heard the news today that one of the boys, Mhlengi, pictured below, due to his academic abilities, has been awarded a place at High School, the costs of which have been covered as part of the Abbey touraid legacy.

In addition, with the help of SKRUM in Swaziland, he has maintained a strong interest in rugby and in the picture below Mhlengi was a touch judge at the recent Girls Inter Schools Rugby Tag Tournament.
